How does this thing work???

Okay, I'm going to give it a go!

I have to say that I have really have enjoyed all the poetry as of late. Way to go Dan! It has been making me want to pause and be creative myself. I’ll have to wait to see what happens by the end of the post.

Thanks to everyone who came out to see us at Kips the last couple weekends. It was great to finally get a chance to talk with some of the staff. They kept mentioning a “manager” that I never saw and I am beginning to wonder if there is a curtain somewhere with various controls hidden behind it. Speaking of the staff, here is a picture of Mike, one of the superb wait-staff at Kips.
(He's the one in the middle!)

Tonight we are back at Charlie’s Pub and I am really looking forward to it. The weather is warming and I bet their deck will be opening soon, and then look out! What a great place to spend a warm Spring/Summer evening.

All right, here is a quick shot at some Haikus

Little pants on twigs
Mysterious woodland sounds
Clover stained kneecaps

Which side drew first blood
A war with no history
No one remembers

Unicorns at war
Triangulate the rainbow
Fire for effect

I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Ah... wish I could be there. I too am just loving the poetry. I keep ranting about it to other people. I love the line 'Triangulate the rainbow'. Oh it is too good.

Have fun... and 'Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain'.

Great Haiku Paul, my favorite is the first one - very creative reading for a cold Saturday morning!

Paul, you may want to give up this geneticist stuf and become a poet. I'll get you a poet hat, if you like!

Last night at Charlie's was a strange one. Weird vibe, never done a gig quite like it. It was like we were acting fine with people, but couldn't connect with them. Even Jeramy, the Bartender from God said the same thing. Except for one table, I'll post thier picture soon, some regulars we adore, but they had to leave early.

Here's hoping for some Irish Rock tonight!

Oh, great, pantless leprechauns. (Actually, I believe we have a comic about that in the back room at the store.)

Back to the mayhem!

There once was a bold submarine
Crewed by wicked wee men dressed in green.
And how they did gloat
When they sank Lukey's boat
As it sailed on the Sea of Poteen.

Uh, that was me, Lorraine and not Malena, which was weird, as I switched to my account before I posted....

Elizabeth, we figured you were dead when you didn't come last night, hee-hee....

After vacillating all day, I ended up at the Bedlam gig at Kieran's because I had to work until 8pm and was too tired face the drive to Charlie's. (Well, actually, the drive home afterward.)

Tonight, on the other hand, I am Stillwater bound as soon as I sign off here. See you soon!

Yay for more poetry! I just posted some off-topic haiku to the last thread.

One hundred cold nights
standing under her window,
waiting for a glimpse.

"Unicorn towers"
both a noun and a verb phrase
for a leprechaun.

This series ends now;
unicorn/leprechaun slash
is too much for me.

Dan, I can't thank you enough for drawing a discreet curtain there . . .

The off-topic ones on the other thread are truly gruesome - the cherry blossoms are a lovely touch!

Posting LIVE from Charlie's Irish Pub in Stillwater - wish you all could be here. Paul and Lorraine are in fine form tonight!

So when are we getting a webcam into Charlie's for a live webcast? Am I going to have to fly out there to make this happen?
