We're Irish Enough For You!

Lots of Fun and Looking for More!

I had a lot of fun playing with Bedlam at Merlin's Rest last night. Mark and Johnny are more like playing with a rock band than an accoustic band. Mark plays bass and Johnny ( John " Big Sexy " Sjogren from the Time Malloys ) plays guitar and they lay down a really solid base for me to go wild on! There was even a great lightning and thunderstorm going on. The crowd is really friendly and made me feel so loved and welcome. I'll be sitting in again next week for Paul Reggee, but most likely for only two sets, it's a long drive, mid-week, and those guys wear me out!!!!!

I am really looking forward to getting back to Charlie's this coming weekend with my own Paul ( well, not MY Paul, I mean my Paul as in my bandmate, never never date your bandmate, trouble will come of it!!! ) Charlie's feels like home. The owners have become great friends and we meet and make SO many new friends every week. And I love the hours, 7:30 to 11:30.

It's a true Irish Pub, old friends, new friends and great music and you never know what is going to happen. The people who come down for the evening are as much a part of the show as we are. Most night I leave there feeling like I have been given as much as I gave, if you see what I mean.

And that's why I do this.

See you soon!!!!!

Love and Fiddles,
Lorraine

Don't let yourself worn out too much.
It may be fun but if it's a long drive then going back home might be dangerous.

Take care.

Rocking out with Big Sexy! Wooo!

Charlie's sounds like a wonderful environment in which to create entertainments.

I am pushing it a bit right now, and am pretty tired, but it is spring and there are gardens, in addtion to everything else. And I do love to play these shows, people are so very cool and give me o very much.

I did make the call tho that only 2 sets on Tuesdays. Johnny is trying to talk me around on that one, but I am going to be sane and , Nope, no can do!!!!

It's a long drive back, but I don't drink, so it's a sober , tho tired drive.

Charlie's IS a special place. I hope you can come see us some time!

Very fun show tonight! We don't generally let people sit in when they come up to us and say " I play guitar or violen or sing " because they are generally 1) BAD at it or 2) drunk , but we made an exception tonight for Geri, who looked about, oh 10 or 11, when she came bouncing up , to tell me she played the violen.

Sometimes you make the right call, she was truly a delight ( and we were pretty sure she hadn't been drinking )

Pictures coming. And we made some new friends.

Looking forward to tomorrow night, but this 80 pound Dog I am currently caring for took off after a bird today, not his fault, he has never been trained and has only been with us a week, and took me with him in a flying cartoon like manner, and I am sore hurt on hip and shoulder and head..

Fortunately , it is the left side, but oh we are talking some bruises and pain here!!!!!!

Oh dear !
Sounds like you 'll have to ask Malena for a calendula cream. (sending calendula waves via ethernet)
Sounds like Dog is a big hyperactive puppy and the sooner he can be brought to obedience the better for all (including Fred).
Take care.

Roadie service will be provided tonight, Lorraine, so you can rest your bruised self after the gig.

I have the clearest mental image of you being towed cartoon-style by the dog, you with one of your "What the heck?!" expressions.

Great show tonight, we had lots of fun, despite me being in a lot of pain..Still needed help getting on and off stage, and Roadie Elizabeth rocked getting things torn down and me on the road to home, but the people tonight were so very wonderful! I loved them all and thank each of you for being there!

I am playing again with Bedlam on Tuesday at Merlins Rest, and hope to be fully recovered by then .

Then Saturday night at Kipps with Paul agin!

Always glad to help - it's very soothing, winding cords, putting like items together, and then carrying heavy things. And a third set with Jazz Morrison's and Things in E-minor is such a nice way to end the evening.

And, hey, no stage at Merlin's Rest or at Kip's to torment your bruises!

I was thinking we could adopt Johnny's habit of referring to Paul Regge as "Pablo", thereby reducing the confusion of Pauls in the blog. (That would just leave us with the confusion of why New Blogger thinks you are Malena part of the time.)

Over there! A bird!
White shepherd too dynamic,
Fiddler goes flying.

---

Tame the mic stands, bag the cords,
Pop the lid on the sound board.
Load up Prius with the gear
Get the fiddler out of here.

Send her home, the hot tub's waiting.
Ellen she's anticipating,
She played the gig with great panache,
But now she simply has to dash.

I wish I was playing with you Dev. Instead I am sniffling and modeling cosets. Our closets will thank me and the sniffling is being banished with LaMie power...right?
Love you

Well, Lorraine, what can I say, you and Paul inspire me! I used to write a bit, back in the day, and it's nice to get back to it, especially in such a light-hearted way.

I came up with the haiku while waiting at a traffic light - luckily, I was almost home, so I could still remember it when I got to the computer.

The other one took a bit longer, but I think it has a nice "Eloise" sort of feel to it.

I'm glad you're less sore. I am looking forward to Merlin's Rest.

Malena, I hope your sniffles vanish soon!

Plus, of course, it's almost time for my Annual Review, and I'm going for that "Exceeds Expectations" rating. I know that will be important when you and Paul are considering my salary and benefits package.

(I slay myself!)
