Halloween and Charlies!!!!!
We are back home at Charlie's this weekend, and it looks like, due to the weirdness of gigs, the Only Paul and Lorraine show in November! Lojo and I are doing Thanksgiving weekend, which of course will be fun, but if you want your dose of Paul and Lorraine, you might want to come out. I for one, am excited and ready to play.
I think we will have some guests, Maureen, from , well, I have no idea where she is from, but it's not here, is driving up, and Sharon, the Hot Birdchick , is having a signing at Dreamhaven and bringing the gang down afterwards. Sharon's book " Disapproving Rabbits " is just out and FLYING off the shelves. I am sure she will be happy to sign for anyone at the show, who doesn't make it to the Dreamhaven event.
What else? Halloween is this week, which for me is a month long event ( ok, year round. I never have to re-decorate, makes things simple ) Perhaps I will dress in something Spooky and Black this weekend ( for a change, hee-hee ) Paul will be coming as Shrek, complete with full green body make up. ( kind of combining St Pats and Halloween )
AJ the manager is coming as a bunch of grapes, and Jeramy the bartender is going to be a Mermaid. Chuck and Judy , the owners, who usually drop by for a set or two, will be coming as Owners of a Wonderful Old Hotel, but their baby Boston Terrier is going all out!
And I am not SURE but someone told me that Elizabeth, manager of Dreamhaven books , will be in full leather, complete with 6 inch heels.
THIS will be a party...( even if I did just make up a FEW things in the last couple paragraphs )
I will leave you with a picture of Paul and I , along with the Hot Birdchick, taken last week in my backyard, while combining Birding and Cooking....

I am *SO* jealous of you, Maureen! I was looking at airfares the other day. This weekend is no good for me, though. I'm sure you'll all have a blast and rock out.
We need some Dan Guy at Paul and Lorraine, sigh...

Gods , we sure did have a fine time tonight! The first set went two hours, and the second over an hour. Which of course, made the third pretty short. We went late, due entirely to the fact that $20's started appearing..Works every time...
Poor Paul is deathly ill with some sort of cold, and found that the combination of Jameson and Sudafed made him well enough and able to play.
His sense of humour tho, went WAY wide of left field, I have never laughed so much in yonks!
Big Johnnie, from the Tim Malloys sat in for a couple songs, alaways fun!
I started off the night looking GREAT , with my hair all nice, but gt all sweaty and grabbed a hair tie midset and put it up in , I am sure a HIDEOUS sort of THING , just in time for the photographers from , I don't know it's name, but the Stillwater Review of What is Cool magazine, to come in and take shots and review us.
The Gods must help us. Who can say what they thought....
AJ and Jeremy completely failed to come thru with the Grape Costume and Mermaind getups, but we have high hopes for Elizabeth and the leather tomorrrow.
Maureen came down, lovely to see you again! And promises to come back tomorrow, coplete with one of the coolest coats I have ever seen!
I am so happy that you guys had such a great time of it, even if Paul is sick. His cure for it sounds a bit like a kill or cure. I hope he wasn't driving...

Another fine fine night! Had a great time! Paul is better, and was not doing Sudafed with the Jameson, too bad, hee-hee....made for great humour!

Dan - you *have* to come out for a show at Charlie's. It's a very cool little spot, and it's in a no sprawl zone! The Fabulous FabLo even told me the magical path back to my base camp without dealing with the twin cities. Yahooooo!!!
The coat was made for that neck of the woods. It's *so* cold to me even this early (and I can hear you natives muttering WIMP!! and you are right).
Agreed on the Grand Party idea Lo - um, but can I beg for a summer gig?
BTW: I'm living in one of the other -apolis cities: Indianapolis (by some terrible error of the cosmos, but so it goes. Sharon's from here too but she escaped). But neener neener - Indy is warmer than you guys. :-D
Don't forget to learn all those Dylan tunes that kept getting requested (what's up with that?!?)
