New Gigs are up!
It's going to be raining, and snowing, and horribly wet and muddy this weekend, in other words, typical Minnesota Spring, but Paul and I will be out playing at Kips, no matter what Saturday ! Neither of us is sick anymore (well, ill anyway) and we are ready to rock.
On May 23rd and 24th, Paul is off for a Family Holiday, and so Big Johnny Sjogren, from the Tim Malloys is going to come down to Charlies both nights and sit in with me. I am hoping he will talk his bandmate from Celtic Nation, Joe Smith, into coming down and maybe bringing his Irish Pipes. (they have another name, but I am not up on my Gaelic) Joe might also play some fiddle, sing or guitar.
Paul, you are missing the good stuff!
Paul has been away this last couple weeks doing thing connected with getting a PhD in Genetics, like Handing in Thesis, Defending the Thesis (I am pretty fierce and offered to do this for him, but he declined) We wish him the Best of Luck, and can't wait to hear how it all went...
Dr. Paul?
We both hope to see YOU very soon. Come down and lets have some fun, eh?
Love and Irish, Lorraine

"Dr Paul" sounds great. Best of luck, Paul!
Apparently he is not Dr Paul YET. Soon tho, soon.
Last nights show was way fun! Had a great time actually, very fun crowd. There was one table who amazed me. They were 6 guys and came in DRUNK and proceeded to drink more than I would have thought possible.
Beer, and SIX rounds of shots. All different shots. They started including Paul in their rounds of shots. Paul was fine, not even sure he drank them, but these guys.....
Noon check out would not have been fun for them.
The rest of the people were great tho, and we made some fine new friends, which is , kind of, why we do it.
Not Dr. Paul yet, but I can taste it... or did I just forget to brush my teeth? I don't know. I went in to the lab at 6pm yesterday and I'm still here at 2:30 pm today. I'm on that wonderful 2nd wind thing where I just keep waiting for it to be yanked from under me!
Playing Saturday was a great time and I want to personally thank everyone from RL that came over to see us.
It was fun to have a bit of a rowdy crowd, even if their high spirits were about 160 proof.
Just for fun, here is an excerpt from my thesis...
There are many different types of nonviral gene delivery systems, ranging from molecular conjugates, lipoplexes, polyplexes, lipopolyplexes, and simply “naked” DNA.
Hehe... I said "naked."
Didn't I hear those lyrics in a Led Zepplin song????? I don't believe you wrote that at all!
Naked. Hee-hee. Naked.
All these terms could sound a little racy... Far racier than plain "naked".
Here is another one...
This family of transposable elements is very widespread and can be found in fungi, plants, and animals including the arthropods, fish, frogs, humans, and the aforementioned nematodes.
I never, EVER, thought I would use the words, "aforementioned nematodes."
Well now, let the merchandizing begin!
-P
"aforementioned nematodes" would be a great prompt for my drabble writing community!
Okay, Okay, Okay.... 5am and my head is feeling a little floaty. I know it's okay to talk to the nematodes but they're not supposed to talk back...right?
Depends on how much whisky they (or you) have been having...
If they start dancing the hoola THEN yo know that you are in trouble. If they are just discussing philosophy,
it should still be alright...
I talk with nematoads all the time, not that they are the most exciting things to talk to....
I do hope, Dr Paul, that you are not going to let this Genetisist thing get in the way of your real job...I mean, working on whatever it is you do, to save the lives of chidren is all very well and good, but please remember you are also a Folk Rock God.
Have a great show tonight (and this saturday as well I suppose).
